Congratulations to our up and coming young thrower Reiss Senior, who, having broken the Herne Hill Harriers club hammer record for under 17 men twice in 8 days in April, has now taken his own record from over 45 metres to 50m plus. Reiss first added 30cm to a record that had stood since 1988 when throwing 39.74m at our first club open meeting of the season at Tooting Bec. Then on 12th April in Gillingham Reiss upped his best mark to 45.02m and now, just over a month later in Chelmsford Reiss has again smashed his age group record with a great throw of 50.19m.
Meanwhile an athlete who has come through our HHH ranks and been a star in all age groups and who is now making her mark among national under 23 and senior athletes is England women’s indoor track international Katie Snowden. Katie was featured in the performance section of the 9th April issue of Athletics Weekly, in which she outlines her training and aspirations and gives examples of the hard work she has been putting in this winter in Loughborough and Nottingham during her final year of her Geography degree at Nottingham University.
Katie’s feature is now on the AW website at this link:

Katie has opened her season well and is already racing the top 800m ladies in the country, winning a bronze medal in the BUCS Champs at Bedford behind Jessica Judd and placing a good 5th in the first BMC Grand Prix meeting of 2015 in Stretford behind internationals Alison Leonard and Lynsey Sharp, the latter with a top 10 UK clocking of 2.04.64.
