On a very sunny, windy, grey, cold, warm afternoon in the middle of Lloyd Park, Croydon saw eleven brave HHH souls compete in the East Surrey XC League over 5 miles of firm grassland. Robin Sanderson was first home for the R&B’s in 6th place closey followed by Dan Hallam in 11th next for HHH was first lady Mel Edwards in 16th place and to complete the first four was Ieva Lobaciute in 2nd female place and 31st overall.
New lad Matt Munro, who only found us last Sunday finished a very respectable 19th as a guest.
Next home was a welcome return to xc racing from Nathan Stone who was chased in by Annes Stevens who was making her debut in a R & B vest and such a credit to the club colours. Second W35 on the day was our very own Jen Barraclough, hotly chased by our very own Jess Winfield who finished in 40th place. It was wonderful to see Nick Swatton racing again after an 18 year break. Mary Setyoule in her third race in as many weeks ran a very strong and mature race to finish 3rd W45, excellent racing.
Thank you to all for racing today, much easier to race than team manage, Geoff!!
