Katie Snowden is now in her 20th year as a member of Herne Hill Harriers, having first officially joined age 12 in October 2006.
March 2026 saw Katie back in a Great Britain team for a major championship for the first time since the Europeans in Rome in 2024 when she raced at the World Indoor Athletics Championships in Torun, Poland.
She acquitted herself very well in a messy, tactical race where a strong finish saw her place 8th in the world. The fact that in a world final she placed higher than the 9th she finished in Europe in Rome two years ago shows is a good indication that she’s now approaching her best form again.
This was a performance most worthy of celebration, even though Katie still of course strives for more.
We at our club can all be super proud of her.
