Common Runner – Week 4, 2015

Mark’s Group:
We have long repetitions on the track this week with an extra rep added from last time in November. I am taking a slightly different tack with the recovery by asking you to jog 200m rather than stand around on the basis that it is better to keep moving to clear lactate that has accumulated from the previous repetition and as a result the quality of the rep should be higher. You must still keep to the timing for the recovery and I have allowed time for those at the back of the group to catch up during this period. (There should be about 20 sec difference in rep times between the front and back of each group.) As this will be an extra long session I’m going to shorten the warm up so it is more important that you are warmed up ready for the 7:15pm start.
