Role: Website communications
Athletic interests: I have been involved and interested in athletics since my youth, mainly in middle and long distance and cross country. Name: Fiona Brown
Role: parent representative
Athletic interests: Having engaged in middle distance running for a northern club and then a southern university for 10 years spanning the 1980s, I gratefully gave up competing at 21, only to return to the sport vicariously when first one and then the other daughter joined Herne Hill in 2011/2 as U13Gs. I have much preferred watching them experience the highs and lows of competitive effort than I did myself. They have gained a huge amount from being club members. They are now U23/U20W and still regularly race in their red and black vests.

I train primarily with Geoff’s group and participate in long distance events ranging from the 5,000 on the track to cross-country and marathons. I am interested in making the club a more inclusive space, and hold a UKA certification in guide running.

Name: Ian Jack
Athletic interests: My son and daughter both joined the HHH youth team in late 2017, so under peer pressure I followed them into the Club in 2018. I’ve been running marathons since 2012 but had not been a member of a running club before (incidentally I’ve taken 17 minutes off my marathon time since joining HHH and would recommend it to anyone). I also like ultra distances and am currently ranked 12th in Britain for the ’24 hour running’ discipline (there are 2 races a year around a 400m track, it’s niche). I am often marshalling or tail-running with the youth middle distance group on Streatham Common (during x-country season) or at Tooting track on Tuesday evenings.
