Young Athletes should ask for Steve Bosley. Middle-distance and distance sessions start at 7.15pm.
Our members don’t just train at Tooting – some of our members of the men”s and women”s squads are part of a training group which trains at Battersea Park at 7.00pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays while others train at the Ladywell Arena near Catford and Kingsmeadow.
A group of distance runners also meets at the top of Covington Way, near Streatham Common, on Thursdays at 7.30pm for hill reps.
If no fixture is on the calendar, groups meet at Tooting Bec track for sessions from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm. Young athletes should ask for Steve Bosley.
Social long Sunday runs
Distance runners can join a long, slow training run to various destinations in South London for about an hour and a half. These Sunday runs serve as an excellent introduction to the club and there will nearly always be somebody who is able to run at the same pace as you within the group.
There are three groups, leaving at different times.
At 10:00 am a varied group leaves, be it, rain sun sleet or hail, visiting a wide range of parks in the area. Pace is anything from 9 min miles upwards. In the summer our runs are shorter, still visiting local parks and commons but running the quick ways! There is always tea, coffee and cold drinks on our return plus cakes and biscuits.
There is a faster group which sets out at 9:00 am, and another more varied group which leaves again at 9:00 am.
