Herne Hill Harriers’ young sprinters enjoyed the memorable experience of racing at the London Stadium ahead of the Novuna London Diamond League meeting on 18 July.
The highlight came in the Under-20 mixed 4x100m Club Connect Relay, where Herne Hill produced an excellent run of 43.72 seconds to take second place behind Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers. The team held off strong challenges from Blackheath & Bromley and Hercules Wimbledon to secure a superb runners-up finish.
The club was also represented in the Under-18 mixed relay, finishing eighth in 46.35. Simply qualifying two teams for this prestigious event was a fine achievement, giving our young athletes the opportunity to compete on the same track—and in front of the same crowd—as some of the world’s leading stars.
