Youth Development League – Southampton – 3 May 2-14

Competing against the top clubs in the South of England, who regularly appear and win at National finals, our newly promoted U13/U15 boys and girls team achieved a very solid result – with fourth place in their first Youth Development League premier Diviison match at Southampton

Every athlete in red and black hoops rose to the occasion and contributed to team performance with many achieving PBs, and getting third and fourth places – over and above their predicted placings.

We did especially well in the U13 girls age group with A string wins with Jess Collins in the high jump on 1.48m and the sprint relay .B string wins through Michaela Pottinger in the 75m and 150m whilst Ore Adamson was 2nd in the 75m (10.1) and the long jump (4.62m).

We scored well in the distance races in this age group with Clarissa Nicholls wining the 1200m in 3.59.3 and Amy Miller 2nd in the 800m B string.

In the under 15 girls we had a double win in the 1500m with Saskia Millard and Eloise O’Shaughnessy (4.42.9 and 4.55.2). Natasha Alfred won the 100m with a PB of 12.5 and Olivia Sinclair 2nd in the B string with 13.4, Maddie Shaw and Kayah Wilks 2nd in the 800ms A and B strings, and Flo Cracddock was 2nd in the pole vault and second place in the B string high jump.

Our Under 15 boys found the high standard hard but Turkay Kormkaz was second in the U15 boys 300m whilst in the under 13 boys Oscar Millard was 2nd in the A string 1500m in 5.03.5,  Jacob Alley was 2nd in the 800m B string and Oscar second place in the shot with 6.03m.
