At the weekend’s Southern Inter Counties Finals at Barnet Copthall stadium, Michael Miller (200m in 24.09) and Lakeisha Owusu Junior (100m in 12.68) placed third and Mohamed Mohamud was close to a medal at 800m (4th place in 2:07.87).
Elsewhere at Eton, Herne Hill Harriers maintained its position in the highest division of the Southern women’s league with strong performances in senior sprints and middle distance, all topped off by the extraordinary success of the U13 girls. Michaella Pottinger, Monae Winston & Lulu King all scored well with individual finishes, and then, the 4 x 100m relay team of Michaella Pottinger, Monae Winston, Samara Clayton and Faith Price who were all Under 13s were the first team home in 53 seconds, despite competing in the race against the U15 girls’ teams. Among our senior women, ever present team member Steph Mitchell was rewarded with two Personal Best performances in one afternoon, with a clear win in the 800m with 2.16.1 followed by second in the 400m in 60.6.
