SURREY LEAGUE MATCH 4
Sam Bramwell took the win in the final match of the 2025-26 season of the Surrey League. This makes Sam just the 8th HHH athlete to win a Senior Men’s race in the topflight division, which HHH have been in for 58 seasons (more than any other club).
Sam led our team to 2nd place on the day, which moved us up to 3rd in the overall league table for the season. This is great progress for our Senior Men, who had finished 7th, 6th, 6th and 5th in the previous four seasons. Morgan Roberts was our next man in in 8th place, his highest ever finish in a Surrey League to secure him 3rd in the Mitchell Cup. Morgan’s total of 66 points for the season means he averaged 16th place across the four races. Also scoring for the A team in all four races was Tom O’Mahoney, who yesterday also had his highest Surrey League finish to date in 46th place.
Our Senior Women showed their strength in depth, with four key players away on international duty representing HHH and Great Britain at the European Champions Club Cup Cross Country in Albufeira, Portugal (more to come on this tomorrow). Despite this, we placed 2nd on the day to secure another runner-up position in the league.
Leading us home was Margaret Coogan in 3rd. This was Margaret’s first cross country season in the UK and she has progressed nicely from finishing 20th on her debut in match 2, to 10th in match 3, to yesterday when she secured herself a top-3 finish. Our A team also featured Soraya Lockwood, who was our final scorer in 31st place on her debut in Red and Black.
Our Senior Men’s and Women’s B teams both finished 2nd amongst the league’s B teams, again showcasing the great depth we have developed over the past few seasons. Our Senior Men’s B team yesterday included debuts from Ryan Hickey, Caleb Hathaway and Cam Gutteridge.
On the junior front, we had individual wins in match 4 for Caspian Holmes (U17M) and Luca Boulton (U15B), along with overall league wins for our U13 Boys and U17 Men.
The next team cross country race is the National in Durham at the end of February.
