SURREY LEAGUE MATCH 3
Saturday saw HHH host our home fixture of this season’s Surrey League at Mitcham Common. We had 106 of our athletes compete across junior and senior age groups, featuring 41 in the Senior Men’s race. There were team wins for our U13 Boys and U17 Women, along with an age group win for Francis Marsh who was 1st M60.
Our Senior Women were 2nd A and B teams to hold their spot at 2nd in the overall league table. Sophie Tooley was first home in 6th place, joined in the top 10 by Margaret Coogan in 10th. We welcomed the debut of Calli Brannan who placed 28th as the final scorer for our A team.
Our Senior Men’s teams were 3rd A and 2nd B. Sam Bramwell was our first scorer in 2nd place, joined in the top 10 by Liam Burthem in 8th. Harry Roberts closed our A team in 72nd, having recovered from losing a shoe early on in the race.
Away from home, Phoebe Anderson was 35th at the World Cross Country Championships in Florida, USA. Phoebe was third scorer for the GB team who placed 7th in the world.
Finally, Lucy Jones and Molly Smith ran PBs at the Valencia 10K of 31:56 and 32:56 respectively.
