Robert “Bob” Harrison RIP 14.05.1959-12.11.2022

It is with the deepest regret that we inform you that one of our long-standing members and an integral part of the Surrey running community, Robert “Bob” Harrison, has sadly passed away following an accident on Saturday 12th November 2022.

Many club members will know Bob from his inimitable running style, willingness to share his vast running knowledge and his passion for the pub after training and racing. Bob was always a friendly face for new joiners and was always up for a chat about anything running related.

A prolific marathoner, he professed with a poker face after every marathon that it was his “last”, only to then sign up for another six months later. He was very excited at having once again qualified for the Boston Marathon and was looking forward to racing it in April 2023.

Bob leaves behind his beloved wife Sally, cats Daisy & Chablis, as well as so many friends whose lives he has touched across the entire running community and beyond.

Details regarding the funeral arrangements will be shared over the course of the week along with a link to a book of remembrance to share your stories and memories of Robert.

Anyone who may wish to send a message to Sally please feel free to send it to Glen Keegan or Bryn Reynolds directly. They who will then pass it on. We would ask that you don’t contact Sally directly at this stage unless she is a personal friend.

RIP Bob 14.05.1959-12.11.2022
