12-year-old Lucas Heath competes for HHH and is a member of James McDonald’s Middle Distance Group, although he is actually training for Modern Pentathlon. Lucas has notched up some impressive recent achievements as he trains for what is a multi discipline sport, involving athletics events.
On 18 September, he earned a silver medal in the U13B category at the Discover Laser Run National Finals in Bath. Lucas, who only took up training for Modern Pentathlon in January this year, completed the 3 x 400m plus 3 x 5 target hit course in 4 minutes 43 seconds, finishing four seconds behind the winner, who was part of the GB team competing in the Laser Run World Championships.
Lucas was selected to compete as part of the GB Triathle (continuous Shoot/Swim/Run) team for the European Laser Run, Biathle & Triathle Championships, held in Marathon, Greece last week, where he finished either 8th in the U13B category!
Following this Lucas competed at the British Modern Triathlon (swim/run/shoot) Championships in Nottingham and secured a bronze in the U13B age group.
A fabulous series of very high level performances from a clearly very talented young athlete. Great work Lucas, we look forward to your next success stories.
