The annual Emer Casey Memorial London 10k autumn road race takes place in Brockwell Park, Herne Hill on Sunday 18 November at 9.30am.
This will be a special year because it is the 10th edition of this event and a contingent from Youghal AC – Emer’s home town – are expected to travel across from Ireland for the first time.
Demand for places is much higher than previous years, so the club need as many helpers as possible to make sure the day is a success from 8am onwards. You don’t need to commit to the whole morning, so even if you can only help beforehand, or later on in the morning, your support will be greatly appreciated and valued.
This is an opportunity to showpiece what our club is all about and it’s really important that we put on a good show. But we can only do this if we have plenty of manpower to make everything run smoothly, so please come along and join in the fun.
If you can help, please let Geoff Jerwood and/or James Ward know before the day – it’s always reassuring to know in advance that we won’t be short of help.
If you are planning to run, do make sure you enter in advance, especially with a bumper turnout expected.
It will cost you £12.50 before the day or £17 on the day, assuming places are still available.
Online entries will be closing on Friday 16 November. Go to www.bookitzone.com/emercasey10k for more details.
Post race refreshments will be in the Half Moon opposite Herne Hill gate thrown in for good measure for those wishing to partake – cheers!
James Ward
