Club U20 womens 1500m record for Katie Snowden as she prepares for Commonwealth Youth Games

Herne Hill Harriers top 17 year old middle distance runner Katie Snowden ran her first and only 1500m race of 2011 and was rewarded with a new club U20 womens record of 4.36.98, an improvement of just over a second on her own mark set last year when still a U17. At the Watford track at which she recorded her club senior 800m record a couple of months ago, Katie took the opportunity of a low key race at an open meeting that attracted a number of top UK young athletes. She was rightly happy enough with her run while in the middle of her preparations for her 800m for England U18’s at the Commonwealth Youth Games on the Isle of Man next month.
