SLSC Relay Tri Report
It was an early start for the South London Swim club Annual Triathlon Relay. The early morning mist over the common disappeared as the sun rose to leave a beautiful autumnal morning.
We had a good turnout from HHH entering four relay teams to take on a 1k Lido swim, 6.4k bike and 5k run.
The four relay teams consisted of;
HH Heroes (Sue 14:35, Eric 13:15, Niki) 19:11 4th
HH Hillbillies (Tom 17:53, Dan 13:28, Jonny 18:50) 9th
HH Hopefuls (Phil 18:57, Jenny 14:37, Andy 17:34) 10th
HH Hangers on (Sam 16:30, Spencer 20:06, Jilly 25:30) 23rd
All teams headed to the start to watch the swimmers brave the refreshing 16 degrees of the lido, 11 lengths however provided ample time to warm up. Sue had a great swim, first out of the water for HHH and 3rd place overall followed by Tom, Phil and Sam.
Swimmers then handed over to the cyclists, completing two laps around the common – Luck played a massive part in the bike leg with everyone hoping to get a green at the traffic lights. Eric maintained the lead above the other HHH teams by completing the quickest bike leg, coming in 5th overall.
