“Mark’s group: We are now entering a transitional period between the end of the track season and the start of the cross country season. There are road relays to keep you occupied at the weekends, on 7th September and 20th (women) and 21st (men). These are good fun and great for building team spirit. More details to follow.
Note: we have a fitness test next Tuesday on track to assess your progress. The test is to see how far you can run in 6 minutes. From this you can work out your average pace and this is your “velocity at VO2max”, is a very good predictor or endurance performance. So don’t train too hard this coming weekend unless you’ve got a half marathon or marathon coming up…”
