Super HHH medal haul at Surrey Indoor championship

Whilst Kristal Awuah was performing well at the Müller Indoor Grand Prix in Birmingham there were some promising performances in all agegroups at the Surrey Indoor championships at Sutton winning eleven gold medals.

In the senior men Seb Wilson Dyer Gough won the long jump with 6.79m and newcomer Omar was third in his first competition. Top long  jumper Jonathan Grant was third in the 60m in 7.14. Micah Goode was third in the U20 mens 60m in 7.33m

Ignatius Abrebrese set a new PB of 6.07m when winning the U17 mens long jump wbile Alie Sesay won his first county medal winning the U15 boys shot in 12.03m whilst Dante Clarke was third in the long jump with 5.45m. There was a 1-2 in the U13 boys long jump with Dylan O’Callaghan and Sebastian Fox winning their first county medals

In the senior womens events there were gold medals for Eleanor Smith-Hahn in the 60m, Eleanor has returned to competition this winter and was winning her first county medal for three years, whislt Joyce Kalumbo won the long jump with 4.59m as well as finishing second in the triple jump with 9.88m. Another debutant Hannah Elgin was third in the womene long jump and Vanessa Grant second in the 60m.

Training partner to Kristal, Chrira Hussey won her first county title in the 60m in 7.81 just ahead of fast improving Mallory Cluley (7.83) who won the 60m hurdles in 8.82. whilst Micheala Mensah won the U17 womens triple jump with 9.60m and Shanice Daley was third in the shot

One of the strongest agegroups of the weekend was gthe U15 girls in which in the 60m final Saskia King won in 8.04 and Makarius Mensah was third in 8.16. Makarius gained recompense by winning the long jump with 4.77m and in the high jump Zoe Ijingba was third with 1.50m.
