News of recent events involving Irish international athletes who are members of Herne Hill Harriers:-
Well done to Ireland World Youth Championship 2016 decathlon representative Daniel Ryan, who won the All Ireland Schools Combined Events Senior Boys pentathlon at the AIT in Athlone on 12th November with a score of 3,725 points, a winning margin of 601 points over his 5 disciplines.

4 x 1 mile world indoor record attempt

Congratulations to John Travers, a member of Donore Harriers in Ireland and Herne Hill Harriers in the UK, who was part of the 4 x 1 mile relay indoor world record attempt at the Believe and Achieve meet in the Athlone Indoor arena on Saturday 17th December – the culminating event of a development meet organised by Dermot McDermott of Corran AC and the Believe and Achieve team. The record has stood for 23 years 1993 at 16.16. John along with Kieran Kelly, Eoin Everard and Joe Warne ( a late replacement for Paul Robinson) all made a great crack at it and John had the fastest split of the four at 4.04. Unfortunately the team didn’t break the mark on this occasion but by all accounts it was a super event for the Donore supporters who travelled down for an exciting evening of athletics.
