While Kristal Awuah has been setting the pace indoors over 60m her club mate and training partner Lakeisha Owusu-Junior set new PBs when finishing second in the junior womens 60m at the National Indoor U20/17/15 championships in Sheffield last weekend.
Lakeisha, the Southern junior 60m champion ran superbly to record 7.55 seconds – a time only four junior women in Britian have bettered this winter
Dante Clarke won bronze in the U15B long jump with a distance of 5.82m. Dante was last years top under 13 boy long jumper and showed great maturity to win a medal in his first national championship.
In the final events of the weekend Mallory Cluley was an excellent fourth in the junior womens 60m hurdles.
Mallory, 16y 11 months, came 2nd in heat 3 of Under 20 Women 60m Hurdles with 8.67s and 4th in the Final with 8.65s a PB.
Alie Sesay came 4th in shotput with a distance of 11.22m and there were other promising performances from Memphis Ayoade with a PB 23.06s in the 200m U17M and
Ignatius Abebrese jumper who came eighth with a distance of 6.16m in the U17M long jump
Morgan Lewis ran 7.34s in the U17 60m
Micah Goode ran 7.34s in theU20 60m
Noah Ojumu ran 23.60 in 200m U17M
Kai Broadbent ran 7.70s in 60m U17M
Both Dante Clarke and Alie Sesay qualified through to the semi-finals of the 60m U15B they ran 7.35s and 7.84s respectively.
