Herne Hill Harriers are deeply saddened to hear that Harold Duhaut passed away on
Sunday 31st July 2016
At 90 years old, Harold was one of the club’s oldest living members.
Harold’s son has provided the following words to describe his father’s long association with our club:-
‘Harold was a member of Herne Hll Harriers for many years. Indeed I
believe he first started running at the club in the 1930s. I remember
being taken to Tooting Bec track in the 1960s as a kid when he was
running and also when he ran as a veteran in the 1970s
‘it would be true to say that Herne Hill Harriers was in my fathers
blood and he had great affection fort the club throughout his life’
Herne Hill Harriers pass on our deepest condolences at this sad time for the family.
Funeral arrangements have now been confirme:-
The funeral will be on 23rd August starting with a funeral mass at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church Hislop Walk, Bognor Regis, West Sussex PO21 1LP followed by a short service at Chichester Crematorium (Westhampnett Road, Chichester PO19 7UH at 2.00 pm family welcome those attending the funeral for refreshments after
For the service family ask for family flowers only but anyone wishing to mark Harold’s passing a gift to one of his charities (the Royal British Legion or the British Heart Foundation) would be welcomed.
