Yet again in 2018, it was a fantastic day for the young athletes of Herne Hill Harriers at the London Schools Athletics Championships in Battersea Park on Saturday 9th June.
Athletes from the club won 27 medals, including 13 gold and recorded many PBs plus championship best performances were set by Mabel Smith in the Junior Girls High Jump and Danielle Henderson in the Intermediate Girls Javelin (both of them breaking the CBPs they set in 2017).
A total of 17 of the 70 athletes selected for the London team to compete in the prestigious English Schools Championships in Birmingham on 13th and 14th July are from Herne Hill Harriers.
Congratulations to all of them. It is a remarkable achievement to have so many athletes selected for the London team (more than any other club) and the coaches and team managers are congratulated on all of their work in bringing athletes to their peak at the right time. There is also one Harriers athlete named as a reserve this year.
