Katie Snowden followed up her super win in the semi final of the World Youth Championship women’s 800m in Lille with a performance in the final which was again only a fraction outside her PB in placing 7th in a strong line up. With a schedule of 3 races in 4 days, Katie did extremely well to record her 2nd (2.05.64) and 3rd (2.05.67) fastest times to date and made a valued contribution to the overall results of a Great Britain team which performed above most expectations. Through such an experience Katie will have learned about much more than racing at the highest level for her age and we will hope that there may be many more international honours to come for our rising young star as she seeks to build on a great effort on a global stage. Well done Katie.
Back in England, Cathy Ansell placed 3rd woman in the British 10k London road race in 35.16, only a few seconds slower than the club track record for the distance, while Chris Busaileh recorded another excellent 5000m PB, this time running 14.36.61 for 6th in the C race at the BMC meeting in Solihull.
