Vets perform at BMAF Indoor Champs at Lee Valley

A few of our HHH vets engaged in a flurry of indoor athletics at Lee Valley during February, including some noteworthy performances at the BMAF Championships last weekend.

Masakatsu Kondo won the M45 long jump, for the third time by my count, and Allan Long won the M65 long jump. In Allan’s case it was a first victory, ensured by one of his longest leaps, 4.18m. They can be excused for being less successful in the 60m.

M60 Mike Mann, in the colours of his first claim club Dulwich Runners, achieved a 1500/3000 double (behind a guest runner in the 3000). M65 middle distance man John Garber also competed at the championships and showed that he is regaining form.

Full results can be found on the BMAF website.

The outdoor season is not far away and I can reveal that our vets league Monday evening fixtures will be as follows:

  • 9 May at Battersea (home fixture)
  • 6 June at Battersea
  • 20 June at Hillingdon
  • 18 July at Twickenham
