HHH Under 13 girls are South of England Road Relay Champions!!

Herne Hill Harriers U13 girls made club history on Saturday 22nd September by winning the clubs first ever title at the South of England Road Relay championships at Rushmoor Arena, near Aldershot.

Eloise O’Shaughnessy led the team off and ran an excellent first leg in a time of 8.29 to keep the team close to the leaders and handed over to Saskia Millard in fifth place. Within half a mile Saskia had swept to the front of the race and started to pull clear to set up a lead of 100 metres at the second changeover. Saskia’s time of 8.01 was just one second outside the fastest leg of the day. Saskia handed over to Katy-Ann McDonald who within just two months running had shot to number 2 in the national U13 girls 1500m rankings and Katy-Ann strode away to finish in 8.22 to increase the teams lead to over 200m at the finish. Running the first leg in our U13 girls B team, Alex Brown also recorded the very good time of 8.34, finishing only 5 seconds behind Eloise.
