Herne Hill Harriers’ Glen Keegan and Phillip Henwood have in the past few days completed the Namibia Desert Challenge, consisting of 220Km in 5 days across one of the hottest deserts on the planet. Stages range from 55km to 28km across some of the highest sand dunes in the world – Dune 45 and “Big Daddy”.
Runners from all over – Australia, South Africa, Germany, Spain, Zambia and the UK. Glen Keegan 16th overall 10th on the longest 55km Stage, Phillip Henwood 23rd overall. Says Glen, “This was not really about positions, just finishing was the biggest challenge”. Awesome.
